Can anyone recommend any sports psychology books geared towards riders - there seem to be a few out there but I'm not sure if the rider specific ones are any good? Or am I better getting one of the more generic ones (like Bounce or The Chimp Paradox)?

Both the books you have mentioned are well worth reading. Love The Chimp Paradox. It's my 'go to' reference. It really gives a great insight into how we react as we do. Ultimately I don't feel we need sport specific, since our horses mirror us and pick up on increased adrenalin, the tension we hold in our bodies etc when under pressure, the key to having a more positive influence on them is to have better control of ourselves.

Two I like ,
my all time favourite is
That Winning feeling by the American Dressage rider Jane Savoie .
And Bounce by Matthew Sayed.

Chimp paradox definitely. Bounce I couldn't get into even though I've tried a few times. I also bought The winning feeling one based on recommendations on here but couldn't get into the either.

I would second the Jane Savoie book, and also the Dr Robert Schinke books, in particular The Thinking Rider.

I'm also just reading Perfect Mind, Perfect Ride by Inga Wolframm which I'm enjoying very much.

I find rider specific sports psychology fascinating :)
