The 14 year old has been retired by connections. After the emotional and worrying moments at Cheltenham I am so pleased that he is bowing out at the top of his game whilst healthy and hearty. He richly deserves his place at the JP McManus stud after giving so many people some great memories. Also a thought for The French Furze, another favourite of mine, who has also been retired after a long and successful career over the jumps.

That's a great result. Have to give JP his due, if only all owners were able (or willing) to do the same for their ex racers too.

I agree- it's so sad to see them forced to keep racing when they're clearly sick of it!
