Spotted - GSD - could steal..

Mahoosive black and gold GSD round the corner from my house. I have seen him a few times wandering along the road, he never goes far really. Really nice looking dog.

Yesterday I left for work early and in the early morning sun I saw him with his owner, a frail, walking stick wielding old chap. Who the dog watched with utter devotion whilst being fed little titbits from his pocket while he held himself up on his stick how sweet is that!?

After all the stuff you read (and I have read some tripe while Ive been researching GSDs) its great to see a wonderful big dog, totally controlled and gentle with his little old man owner.

Aw, bless - did you see that video MM posted the other day of the dog doing a whole SchIII protection routine, handled by a ten year old girl?

They really are, in my experience, a great 'age appropriate' breed, they seem to know when to be gentle, and who can take a bulldozing there's an old fella who takes his to the local Tesco every day, sits on a bench, and throws a ball for the dog while he watches the world go by

Thats what I thought, for such a big dog and such a frail guy - to not have knocked the guy over must have been a great composure and awareness. Was lovely to see. My two on the other hand would have bounced all over him and ran away

If the dog is anything like my mums old GSD was with her then you wouldn't get near to knock him down She was the same, bouncy with anyone who could cope with her but gentle as a lamb with my mum.

Oh and CC, the little girl in the vid was 7!

LOL wouldnt fancy pushing anyone around with GSD maximus anywhere near, there'd only been my arm left!! ahha.

But there have been times when the dog has been alone outside the house and Ive thought..

Seven - God, I'm almost four times her age and I still can't remember how many bloody steps are in that heelwork routine
