Spotty Dartmoor foal!

that is cute :D

i wonder what response you'd get taking it into a native or dartmoor class? i know the british spotty is a british breed but are thy recognised as a native in terms of showing?! (i know nothing about showing! :o)

V cute.

I would guess its a dartmoor hill pony (just a type given the random things up there!)

not a dartmoor pony (breed) :)

:)Absolutely NOT registered Dartmoor parents, that would make a total farce of the whole breed society wouldn't it?

Just a moorland mare bred to a spotted stallion put out there to produce more colour, thus more sellable babies, where I lived in Wales there were several spotted stallions and lots of spotty babies- pure business in those cases. You can virtually guarantee to sell a spotty foal.

Nice pattern though.

if it makes the dartmoor hill ponies more saleable then i am all for it, i have two hill ponies and they are great. My only concern is that it would make the normal bay etc not sell as well but hay ho no change there really. Hopefully it will highlight this wonderful breed of pony. Hmm i might be going back to the sales at the end of the year, just better not tell the oh.
