For those of you who have been following the progress of LindsayH's Clyde (the 'unbreakable' 7 year old spotty),I managed to get a little bit of video today (not great - as off my very ordinary camera) but it will give you an idea of where we're at and how he's going.

At this point, the rider (John) is directing both his going forward and his stopping (but no reins -all voice and leg commands.) The ground handler (Olivier) is merely a life line in case he panics and either takes off or starts bronking.

Despite the fact that there was a bit going on in the lorry park next to the manege, Clyde stayed calm and was the most relaxed he's been.

I'm so glad its going well, he's such a lovely chappy :) I love that you're taking it slow and steady, too many people rush things nowadays! Keep us updated :)

Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeek!!! That isn't my horse, surely!!!! I can't believe how well you've done this week, your chaps are amazing. Ok, it's official, I BELIEVE! I've already watched the video about a hundred times and not bored of it yet! WOOOOOOOO!!!

:D Glad you're pleased! He's still got quite a way to go- but he WILL get there. He wants to please - it's just that his poor little brain melts down if you push anything 'new' a smidgeon fast.

And my guys ARE great! O. has been with me 5 years now and I thought there was no-one as good! I wanted to clone him so I didn't have to be the one hanging on to some potential buck-jumper (apart from anything else, my gammy leg means I can't walk fast enough - or long enough- on the manege surface!) Then I found John- and life is perfect! Because he's JUST as good as O. - AND they get on together (not always the case when you get two pro's working together!)

The added advantage of me not having to do the ground handler job is I can wield the camera!:D

LITTLE being the operative word! :D

Are your chaps quite tall? I'm sure Clyde was 16hh when he left here, he looks smaller now! (If you could shrink him a little before sending him back that would also be a huge bonus.)

Camera wielding is a very good thing and makes fretting owners VERY happy!

John (riding) is just on 6 foot - but skinny. Rides at 12.5 stone. O.is 5'10" (I can'tbe doingwith short a*ses -they can't reach Raj and Rambo to put bridles on.

Haven't had the stick on Clyde but I think he'd be struggling to reach 16hh. He does need to fill out a bit more - then he'll take up the leg better.

He was 14.3hh when I bought him, I was hoping he'd end up about 15.1-15.2hh. He was supposed to be rising 4 but when we were finally able to look at his teeth, he was def rising 3. He just kept growing until last year. Another indicator that he was rather a late maturer. He's used to being the big boy, but I imagine on your yard he feels like a midget! Have pm'd you x

thats incredible well done you and your fab lads! :)

and clever pony.... obv :)

:D They'd love being called 'lads' - just a bit long in the tooth! I won't tell you how old they are but collectively, they're older than me (and I COULD have a bus pass if I wanted one!)

YOUNG lads are useless for this job - they have limited experience, no sense of self-preservation and they're always in a rush!

And pony IS clever - you can SEE him thinking - and he DOES try to please. The only thing standing in his way is his instinctive fear of anything new. It's a crying shame that his owner has 'lost' 3 years of fun with him thanks to the IDIOT who originally tried to 'break' him (and boy, did he succeed!!)
