Has anyone ever stopped their dog fixating on something on the horizon and making a dash for it by the use of a spray collar?

yes!!!!
we own a dobermann bitch who got the taste for deer once.
we found that if u teach the dog recall to a whistle, when they do not cum back wen it is blow, spray the dog and reward wen they cum back
it worked with our dog but make sure u get a long range one!! the longer the better!they then learn that if they dnt go back when the whistle is blown, they get nasty stuff in their face!
it really works. all we have to do now is bleep her when she looks like shes spotted something. it takes time and patience and it helps if u can read your dogs body language!our dogs head goes up and start pacing then she lowers herself and goes!!
