Many people recommended getting some flexi stirrups, and ideally Sprengers as they thought they were the best! Just gone onto Ebay and there are 3 different kinds of Sprenger flexi's!!

1) These seem the better ones with the off-set eye as the read up said ideal for old ankle injuries...

2) These appealed to me as one day I would love to jump again....

Which ones do you think I should get? Many thanks for your invaluable advice and help! It offers me a massive reasurrance hearing from people with similar problems and the things that have worked for them! Thank you! xx

I have got the bow balance ones on my jumping saddle and they have made a real difference to me. I broke my ankle 4 years ago, and although it was a very minor break I always had trouble when I tried to ride with jumping length stirrups, but these have made all the difference in the world.

I have the number 2 ones, the blue bow sprengers. Possibly bought from the same person. I have never used them though, i borrowed a friends saddle for the first few weeks while i was waiting for a saddle fitter to come out then horse turned out to be a psycho so he went back and stirrups remain unused. I bought them coz i read they are great for ankle and knee probs and i have arthritis in my knees.

I haven't broken mine, but I do have arthritis in both of my ankles which can be very troublesome when riding. I have the bow balance ones, and would recommend them

i've got 1 pair of bow balance and 2 pairs of the bottom type, tbh i can't tell the difference between them when i'm riding. haven't got an ankle injury (well, not a recent one!) but have a v dodgy knee and these make all the difference.
i say it every time - if you know anyone in Germany, get them to get you a pair and send/bring them over, as they're half the price there, my trainer got me 2 pairs v reasonably.
as for getting on - step on off a high mounting block, definitely.

Got the Bow Balance ones for Daughter1 - I borrowed Little Cob, and therefore the stirrups, today and they are great, comfy and very easy to find. Rode out for two hours and not an achey ankle in sight

I have the bottom ones in your list. Brill. Love them. Thinking about it though, I think the Bow Balance ones are slightly better.

Haven't tried the off-set ones.

As to price etc., try Ingate (Irongate?), damn, can't remember the name! I got the BB ones from there for D1 for Christmas, they were £85 if I remember rightly.

Anyone know if there is a maximum weight for use ?

My friend has the blue ones and says they are great, she has dodgy back

Thank you very much for everyone's responses! Muchly appreciated xx

Admittedly I was more attracted to getting the 2) Bow ones, but reading up on the 1) off-set eye ones, I thought they would be more appropriate because of my manky ankle. Then I read everyone's feed back and you all like the bow one's save Ashgrove who has the other set! Oh mannnnn I'm rubbish at making decisions lol!

This will be the deciding factor for me....

Mrs M, do the bow stirrups turn out away from the horses side like the photo Ashgrove posted of the off set eye? They look like they are angled to do so when I googled them and saw them from the view at looking from them above down to the treads! I am horrendous when it comes to spending money - I like everything to be perfect lol!
