Does anyone have the Sprenger Stirrups with off set eye? (Not the new blue ones).

I have ankle problems, especially one of them.. If I trot for any amount of time, or simply after a long ride, my ankle will really start to hurt.

Having read a little on the give with these stirrups, I wondered if they'd help.

Anyone got any experience with them?

I have the MDC Ultimate stirrups, which are similar, but with an adjustable eyelet.

I find that my knees and ankles ache less after a long ride than with the ordinary "flexi" stirrup irons.

I have them. My knee is knackered after about 20 minutes. They do help me a bit although I find my feet slip out when jumping so I have a normal pair for then. My friend's friend has them for joint problems and she swears by them.

I have the Sprenger system 8 and they have been the best investment of £100ish ever. As like most riders over the years i have accumulated injuries and my knees, ankles, hips and back all suffer, but, there is significantly less aches or pains when i use them. I really notice the difference now if i ride without them, also the fab thing is they go wherever you do!! (I have a spinning top of a t/b)

The MDC Ultimates have an adjustable eye at the top, so you can set them flat, at 45 degrees or 90 degrees, depending on what suits you best. Additionally, you can put then back to flat, to run the stirrups up.

They aren't cheap, but I would definitely buy either these or the Sprenger version over the standard flexi stirrups.

I have them because I have sore knees and ankles and they seem to help. I also find they steady my lower leg a lot so I really like them, but my instructor hates riding in them, she feels they twist her leg.

I have them, but not the off-set eye ones. I love them, no more sore ankles or knees. I think they're worth the money, but I've not tried any cheaper ones.
