Hi, I know bitting has been done many times but just wanted some opinions. We are reviewing pony's bits. Currently he is in a NS hanging cheek for flat work and a NS universal for jumping. It was suggested by a dressage judge recently that he has tendency towards being overbent and may be better in a loose ring snaffle. I agree that he can get overbent (although it has taken a year or so to get there from giraffe like :)). He does like to slip his tongue over the bit and that is why I wondered about the sprenger turnado. So has anyone used this bit or any other suggestions. We are also going to put him in the snaffle for jumping as we don't need extra control anymore and always ride with the universal on the snaffle ring.

yes its good for tongue issues-helped my mare. She now in a nathe though - and so I do have a stainless 5.5 turnado sat here doing nothing :P

I've got one on my double bridle as my chap can flop his tongue over the bit, which scares me a bit with a double bridle!!! He's still managed to do it though, so wouldn't say it is a miracle worker!!
