Ok it's time I did a Spring clean and I was just wondering if anyone can recommend where to buy a good product for cleaning smelly rubber mats?!

Try Fieldguard Green Gloop, not cheap but smells fab and very effective. Whatever you do don't use jeyes Fluid on rubber as it causes it to break down.

i use jydes fluid it works at treat !! disinfects and leaves a fresh new type smell lmao.
u can get it from and leading store e.g asda, tesco at good prices and different sizes ..?

I usually drag the mats out and give them a good broom scrub with hot soapy water.Jeyes and scrub the stable floor leave floor and mats to dry for a day or two then put the mats back in.Luvverly jubberly.

I have got stable fresh, its about 9 quid for a huge 5 gallon container (i think) and you dilute it 1 part to 99 so it should last ages.....

I have had a real problem with smelly mats so I took them all out, washed the stable with green gloop, then put the mats back down with plenty of green gloop underneath.

Now each time i muck out i spray the mats with stable fresh and there is not a smell at all, previously the box stank of amonia (have changed to shavings as well).

Pressure washer for cleaning and 2 pairs of G-clamps for carrying the mats in and out to be cleaned.

Hi

I used to have rubber mats underneath a good bed of shavings....each day I used to use a powder (i think it was pink) on the mats to keep the stable smelling neutral all the time. I'm sorry but I can't remember the name, your feed merchant should have some.

. No damage, but then I don't clean them very often

It's worse on the porous rubber crumb type mats which are bonded together with a special adhesive. If they are solid rubber and you rinse well you may get away with it.
