Urgh! Anyone else suffering with the effects of spring grass?
Ronnie is officially full of beans today! He was a total numpty and ended up bombing about in the indoor school squealing like a little piglet and broncing..
Myself and a friend decided it would be fun to ride our boys out in the summer field (we've put a couple of tiny tiny x poles there to have a play) and also get them schooling on grass, mainly so she gets her cob going nicely ready for our summer show at the end of april and I wanted to have a play on said jumps. Turns out Ronnie had other ideas...he couldn't even walk properly he was so full of it, skipping about like some hyper hippo so after a while I admitted defeat and took him in the school to lunge. Again, not a chance! He's usually saintly in the school, but today there was just one too many rockets up his backside and off he went, skippy hoppy across the school like a child on blue smarties
Shockingly, he voluntarily decided to take himself over some trotting poles a previous rider had left out.. he couldn't even do that! Ended up doing some retarded leap across them and tripping over the last one!
Looks like tomorrow will be an interesting ride, definitely sticking him on the long reins to begin

So, who else has had an 'interesting' day with hyper horses? I hope i'm not the only one!
Oh, and heres a video from our canter hack the other day. It was so much fun having a good blast on him and I even had some brakes
