Jazz is four now, and in the middle of a season of shooting/picking up and beating, and she's finally starting to settle.

She's used to retreving phesant, partridge etc... but going for a nice walk today, in a bust dog walking area, she retreived to hand... an owl! Been dead a while - how no other dogs had found it I don't know - small barn owl, no ring on it otherwise I would have reported it's death. Still, a good retreive!

Bless her, my JRT once retrieved the bloated body of a Moorhen from a pond, he was trained to retrieve, but as he has been brought up with working labs and a ESS he is a little confused, and quite fancies himself as a retriever!!! Unfortunately he also feels the need to bring me any mice or rats he catches and doesn't seem to worry if he brings them dead or alive!!!!!
