Sorry if you are fed up of seeing my horse 10ft in the air :P but these are just to bloody good not to share!
So if you have seen any of my other posts you will recognise this goofball, if not this is my rising 5yo Gracie, she wears a very shiny halo and it never slips!

I hired an arena last week as there was no shows on locally, and as we are going to northcoate to jump 5yos in June, and she is still quite green (Handful of shows, only jumped up-to a meter) I thought it was time to try a few bigger fences and get some doubles work in as that is her weakness!
Once again she was incredible, I cannot sing this horses praises enough.

We are hopefully out to jump our first newcomers next week so she can do a few and be somewhat ready for the 5yo tracks in June.

Please forgive my riding. It isn't very pretty but her jump isn't the easiest thing to ride and I try to slip my reins instead of looking pretty as to not accidentally catch her in the mouth!

Thanks for reading!

Makes a lovely shape over the fence, and looks lovely. The only trouble is are you not going to find related distances a bit of a nightmare? If she jumps that high in the air when you land won't you be landing short of where you should land and therefore struggle to make up the distance?

She hasn't done to bad so far, sometimes gets a bit deep on the first combination if she's a bit wobbly and green but learns from that and doesn't make the same mistake again. I think its just something that will come with experience! :)

Wowee she is just fabby :), love that you think your position isn't pretty :D if I could look like that on even a nice none pingy horse I would be happy :o.

I think you both look great and considering she is 5 she has an amazing jump, she just looks like a horse that very much wants to get over those jumps and clear them which she is and with a bit more experience she will learn that she is clearing them with ease, which in my book is a lovely attitude to have I am sure you will have much fun with her in the future:)

*ping!*

Lovely... She's really not wanting to touch anything, is she? ;)
Think you've got yourself a cracker there - I, for one, am looking forwards to seeing how she gets on as she gets out and does a bit more. How is she bred? :)

She's amazing <3. Your position is pretty good tbf, much better than mine!
Thankyou, I love her!

Nope she's not about having poles! Haha she is amazing. She has been so good ever from bringing her home at rising 3, backing breaking etc has just been a walk in the park! She's by VDL Glasgow VH merlenest(probably spelt wrong!) and out of an ahorn mare whom competed to I think 1.40 level successfully herself :)

ah, I was actually on the VDL website the other day (hoping to get my next horse from them) and I had a quick nosey at that particular stallion's profile page while I was there. Very nice. :)

I also have an extravagant jumper who was very particular about touching anything when he was younger (he's still careful but has thankfully calmed down a bit on the whole jumping over the top of the wings front) and it took me blooming *ages* to get used to the feeling of him ballooning over the fences. It also wasnt pretty to start with but then I guess it's about being effective to start with and then working on making it all look nice. :p

Good luck for your first Newcomers. Hopefully we'll have a report to read afterwards (hint hint)? :D

I think the horse is clearly athletic enough to find a way round it.

Well done OP she looks great.
