Spur of the moment trip to Ireland to see a horse...am I mad?!

Is it the one jumping a huge hedge on done deal? If so, also found dealer hard to get hold of. (not about that horse, by the way!)
May be worth contacting Pallas stud in Nenagh, in case they have anything?

This one looks nice, but in Cork.

You could have come across for a couple of days adventure seeing horses. Hope it works out for you.

Ive Pm'd you- as its prob the same one!
Is he trustworthy?

Ooo i had a look at pallas stud page- that chestnut is fab, although I'm sure out of my price range!

Pm'd you back. If you don't find anything may be worth contacting Ex Measles on here, Avonmill horses, as she gets some lovely event types over from Ireland.

I did exactly this, but I went with half your budget and I bought the most amazing little horse for half of my budget!
My Irish impulse buy was an unhandled 4yrold who turned out to be the sweetest, friendliest, bravest and most intelligent horse I've ever had the pleasure of owning.
He went from unhandled to ridden showing in 12 weeks and comes on leaps and bounds everytime I sit on him. He is incredibly calm about the world around him and has yet to find anything scarey out on a hack even in super heavy traffic on his own!
Do not feel like you have to buy a horse over there but make sure you keep an eye out for the diamond in the Rough. Mine was a breeding accident apparently but he is a very nice accident who will hopefully get me to HOYS

On a non-horsey note, Ireland is amazing!! I love it over there and would like to move over one day.

Anyhow, best of luck with the viewings and keep us updated! :)
