I was wondering if anyone had any thoughts to share? I have a very hot chestnut mare who is quite reactive to my leg- but at the same time will either ignore or retaliate against a stronger leg aid ie if she is distracted coming towards a fence etc.

I used to ride my old Cavalier horse in blunt ended spurs after I had him a few years and he was similarly sharp but seemed to appreciate the spur aid rather than a closed leg?

I have tried my mare in the blunt ones a few times but I think the surface area of them causes her to almost hold her breath and puff out against them like if you were doing a ponies girth up! Until yesterday I hadnt thought about trying her in them again, but possibly Impulse type or smooth rowelled ones?

Any thoughts?

I wish all horses came with a user manual!!!:D:D

I have the spurs linked and generally like them but they rotated slightly one day when I hadn't done the strap up tightly enough and the top bit marked my horse.
