Spurs

The BE rule book seems to say that all BD spurs are BE legal - but I'm still confused! Need to buy some spurs for BE this year and I am baffled by the different number of lengths you can get... how do I know which length spur I need, and whether that is BD/BE legal?!

Most are legal unless you are going out buying big monster spikey spurs. Anything upto about 30mm should be fine.

The rollerball/impuls spurs are OK too.

I like the impuls spurs aswell. But dont get spurs unless you need them

I read in the BE rulebook that impuls spurs aren't allowed!

me and my boss (she competes up to 4*) competed BE in them last year...

naa just checked 2008 rule book ....p24 3.20 iii 'impuls' spurs and dummy spurs are allowed ...........phewie!!

last season a friend of my competed with them and at end one her dressage test, judge got out and questioned the use of these spurs!!

Oh I thought I read in the rule book that they're NOT allowed, must have read it wrong -phew!

But for some daft reason (unless BD rules have changed this year) you can't use implus spurs in BD competitions. Seeing as they are far more "gentle" than others this always seemed a bit odd to me.
