Does roller ball spurs create the same reaction as normal spurs?? Just wondering as my horse works very well, off the leg, when rode in normal spurs but i dont want them rubbing as he is quite a delicate soal :p So would roller ball ones give the same reaction with no marking? If so which ones are best?

Thanks :)

I'm no expert but I understand that the roller ball type are softer, as they slide across the skin rather more. They don't mark. I used them on my mare yesterday - certainly made a difference! :) (compared to no spurs, that is)

I think that they are amazing I used to ride in 1inch spurs (i know fairly big but then again i dont dig them in) but i have recently got the roller ball spurs i think its these ones i have..... http://www.ingatestonesaddlery.co.u...ories/Mark-Todd-Roller-Ball-Spurs-100750.Aspx

and i love them they dont leave a mark on even the softest skinned horses and you get the same reaction if not better reaction :) i really recommend them

I use the rollerball spurs as my pony isn't always the sharpest off of the leg yet hates schooling whips and shoots forward with Prince of Wales spurs. I believe - due to them being a rollerball as opposed to a fixed one, the movement offers a milder contact onto the horse. I'd much rather see rollerball spurs being used tbh. Some people make MY sides hurt when I see how much they jab their poor horses with the PoW ones so I can't imagine what their horse must feel like!
