Hi

Has anyone had this for a snotty nose from their vets? and did it work?

My mare has a snotty nose which has been diagnosed as a blocked sinus, only one nostril effected, heard about this product and wondered if any one had experience with it.

I used it for my mare a few years back. It's supposed to thin the mucous so it can be snotted out (technical term LOL!)

I had to use it whenever necessary for three days at a time.

Yes it worked well, she did have extensive problems which meant she was also on Ventipulmin as well (cleft palate, leading to food in lungs and eventually severe COPD)

Generally the Ventipulmin dealt with the problems. The Sputulosin was a back up.

My mare had Sputolosin when she had sinusitis a couple of years ago, and it did exactly what it said on the tin!!! It seemed to make the goo easier to get out. She had a course of antibiotics alongside and was right as rain very soon after. It was very expensive, though!

mine had this with ventipulmin last year as had cough which at time though was duetoinhaling food in a choke episode. it losens and thins the mucus making it easier to expel. it turned out mine had RAO so didn't make big difference it is rather expensive!!!!

My 4 yr old has had a snotty nose for a couple of months. I wondered about sputolosin. The vet was all for drilling his sinus but we've asked if we can try another course of antibiotics first. I think I may ask him about trying sputolosin too as it thins the secretions down.

My boy has permenant sinusitus even after a bone flap and I'm always on the lookout for things to help him. Does expelling the mucous help clear the infection or just make breathing easier.
