The 17hh ShirexClydesdale STAMPED on my foot today while I was applying soothing Aloe Vera gell to her rear heels. My sister insisted on me going to A&E, where xrays show no breaks, but it hurts like mad. This is a pointless post, but wanted to share

Ouch!!! So much for gratitude

.

I still remember my ID spooking in hand, jumping in the air & landing on my foot - it was a few years ago now but I still have a lump.

I hope it stops hurting soon. Stick some frozen peas on it to help the swelling & put lots of arnica cream on before you go to bed but I suspect you'll be hobbling for a few days.

Thank you for the kind words, the big galoop frightened herself stupid and tried to run off! Which just prooves to me that she knew just what she was doing, even if sister thinks it wasn't malicious! (You can tell it's her horse!) I just hope I can get my boot on when the weather clears up. Currently hobbling with a stick

you have my sympathy as sis horse Sunny has a habit of doing this! anti inflammatories and arnica gel are good advice, but it will also help if you can wear shoes with quite a solid base and my foot took a couple of months before getting totally better

Heavy Horse rule number 1... never leave your foot where the horse is about to put theirs!

You're not kidding! And Irish Draughts are the WORST I've found for it. I still recall the day Raj dropped his hind foot on mine as he jumped a mare. He remained on it for the duration!!!! (Luckily, horses are quite quick - but I sure didn't let him have time to snooze after the moment as he usually does!) My foot was black and blue for a couple of weeks!

Best treatment is alternate hot and cold packs - and elevation!
