Today little cobby mare and I had our first schooling sesh for a while, and I wore my lovely new HKM brown leather field boots. Had a pootle round in walk, then moved up into trot and there was this awful "SQUEAK-ee SQUEAK-ee SQUEAK-ee SQUEAK-ee"
Little mare shot forwards and turned into a coiled spring, and didn't relax at all even after I swapped into my (quiet) saggy old Toggi yard boots
B*llocks.
Saddle is synthetic, a Thorowgood T4, I've had it for 7 months now. I normally ride in my mountain horse short boots and battered old leather chaps, or Toggi Canyons. I've never ridden in this saddle with smooth/shiny long leather boots on!
Is there anything I can put on my boots to stop them from squeaking and squawking on my saddle??! Or is this justification to treat myself to a lovely new leather saddle?
