You may remember that earlier in the year I acquired some more squeaky pig, and had not completely decided what to do about their summer quarters.
Well this is the result of the deciding, slightly delayed by insisting I research all the options very thoroughly... and then predictably go back to one of the earliest companies I found.
Then slight delay as the chap that was going to help me build it after I'd painted the panels (short of room once up) was awkward to tie down then got covid. So an SOS call to ex hhoer dafthoss who I first met in person when she came round to build a wardrobe and it was constructed over the easter weekend. It has then taken a bit of time and a couple of false starts on latches and things to cat proof it so that they can have the stable door open in either of it's open configurations.

Please ignore the state of 'outside' it's all in project mode a bit at the moment which is why I haven't yet added to the gardening thread. . . albeit the shed did mean I then bought 3 extra trough pots to go down one side. .

Tour vid

Pigs checking it out vids. . I have since moved the castles in a bit if we are going to insist on going round the outsides of them!

lucky piggies, looks like they approve, really cute. your next job could be putting another floor a couple of feet up with a ladder going up so they have more room to exercise...i did that with my cage indoors on a smaller scale and they loved going up and down...love the videos

Don't you start too.... there has been much talk on my facebook of multi storeys and runs/tunnels to outside. . . I've insisted on a pause on construction ? other than shelves for ME, and a bench in front of the window for seeds, that is how I justified spending quite so much on them ? because it would be good to then get at least one bicycle from upstairs into the other shed ?, and then maybe I can paint the hall stairs landing without rapidly trashing it with bike handles ?

They have a mezzanine in their indoor cage but the same surface area flat is definitely more conducive to zoomies - which is why they didn't just get a double hutch :D

Just bought some shade netting for the top door ?. Doing some experimenting of what works best in the day temperature wise (have a min max thermometer in it, opted not to steal a continuous monitor from work ? yet)
Unfortunately it is in the sunniest bit of the north facing garden as there wasn’t really any other places to put it.
Obviously they will be in the cool kitchen as and when needed anyway :). No access to outside run currently as I’ve just reseeded it with weeds for them (on the basis that the grass struggles in several bits I bought a rabbit run seed mix ?)
