I only went to my local tack shop this morning to drop off some second hand stuff, and I might have come back with a pony! What is the world coming to!!!
For ages I've been quietly after a filly foal (weanling) of either a rescue variety from the sales or a cheap filly for sale 'locally'. Many I've seen have been far too expensive, and most others suitable ponies have been colts/geldings, when I want a filly.
SO .. there was this advert, a filly, 5 months old, to make 13.2hh roan NF. AND, more conisidencely (SP?) she has the same birth date as Meg! Its gotta work.
I've rang the number, but no answer yet and no answer phone to leave a message.

So please everyone, VIBES this will work. (I've fallen in love with her photo!!)

(And yep, within my price limit - just!) and, no, the OH will not find out til its too late!! - cunning plan? lol

Well, spoken to the owner.... they live about 20 mins away (so nice and local!) all she wants is a good local home for the filly (Penny). The lady rescued her last autumn from another lady who didn't want any horses (her daughter had a large collection and had moved away) , let alone 1 in foal. So, the owner took the mare in, and gave her some tlc, and on the 1st April Penny was born! (Megs birthday!!!)
The little filly is very sweet and easy to do. All four feet can be picked up, she comes to call and can be tied up to be groomed.

AND, Iam going to see her on Monday evening .... *squeals again* . I like being 30 going on 13!!

Good luck. Hope it all goes well for you. Oooh, you've made me all broody. I MUST NOT buy any more horses..........but then if I put one of my girlies in foal.......
