I've read LOADS of independent reviews on both of these (and many, many other types of 4x4's capable of towing well). I have narrowed my search down to these 2 (manual versions only!) I am not buying newer than 04 due to the tax hikes and tbh, I don't want a new 4x4 anyway. My main concerns are the ride and availability of parts for the Rexton and the following with the Sorrento "Seems to be a problem with 18" wheels on some XT models leading to slip sensor trouble and the wrong messages to the transfer box. Manual transmission problems increasingly common after around 4 years and around 80k miles, particularly when used for towing." And also there was a recall in Dec 2004 on the Sorrento, something to do with the alternator belt displacing, though apparently none have been recalled in the UK. I was wondering if anyone on here had any good/bad experiences of them - pm if you prefer. Many thanks in advance!
