SSG leather gloves ........ what size

I am going on a horse holiday early next week so bought a pair of leather gloves, the size 9 seemed a bit loose, so I sent for size 8, they seem a bit tight, what to do now as I really don't want two pairs. They are for western riding, then maybe do for autumn/winter wear.

If they are leather they will stretch so I would go for the 8's and wear them in. Have a lovely holiday.
