Who uses stable bandages and why?

I been brought up traditionally and have always been taught that when a horse is stabled and fit and in full work, they should have their legs bandaged! All my ponies are bandaged at night from my youngster to my shetland. Is there any point or am i just making more work for myself?

I think that you are making work for yourself. I bandage if I think the legs need support after a hard day.
If I compete a long way from home and its been a long day jumping/travelling I leave the bandages on all night, so unless your horses are fully clipped and feel the cold or are doing long hours hauling coal wagons I would knock off the bandages.

i hardly ever use them, i think they can disguise problems, i'd rather be able to see and feel what the legs are doing.
my only exceptions - after a big run xc; on an older horse who gets filled legs when standing in; the week before a 3-day when they seem to want to break themselves in any way possible!

I'm with you Kerilli - these are the only times I would use them. Do sometimes use them for travelling on a horse that seems to find travel boots easy to remove!
