Stable bankings

I know I disagree with you on a lot of things Tnavas, and I personally don't use banks and only have thin layer of bedding over my rubber matting, but in terms of draughts bothering horses I completely concur.

I don't take it personally! :D

There are many ways of doing things and we all have our own preferred ways.

Well you are most entertaining! Had a bit of a chuckle reading your posts!
Done your BHS exams - you must have missed the lesson about bedding!

I trained with the BHS Chief examiner and you would have been shot down in flames for neglecting to make a deep bed.

And as you pointed out many horses get clipped they often have no extra hair on legs and belly to keep them warm. I guess though you don't care as much about your horses as you make out otherwise you wouldn't be skimping on bedding.

woopie doo yours was a Chief Examiner. That does not make you a better BHS Qualified than the rest of us, my god your up yourself...........

DON'T YOU DARE SAY I DON'T CARE JUST BECAUSE, I CHOOSE NOT TO HAVE A LOT OF BEDDING OR NO BANKS.

You are now making a personal attack on the way I choose to run my yard and my liveries choose to have their stables.

I have reported you now as that is too far. Its one thing having different views but to insinuate members are neglecting their horses and don't care because they do things different is another.

As for my qualifications we all learn how to do beds in our training, but later in life we decide to do different to what we are trained is no biggy. My training place was a HUGE training yard where Olympic events were held not some little back street place.

FYI Rubber matting comes right to the door and blocks off the gap under the door when door shut. Sheesh you will be telling us all we need to use lagging next round the roof to stop draughts up there next.

Now BACK OFF!!!!! Your on UI now.

Just to point out, Tnavas was not the original user to post that. And I keep mine very similarly, on matting with a thin bed, and I didn't take offence. It's just a different point of view. Also her posts read very tongue in cheek I thought.

I know they were not the OP but they did say(which I see has been removed)

.

So everyone will be shot down for doing things different to what they were taught?

funny how its been removed now

Read your own posts to me, you have been attacking me with every post you made because I didn't agree with minimal bedding.

One thing with training with the BHS Chief Examiner is that training is extremely thorough and more than what was required. I trained with Pat Smallwood of Radnage House through to BHSI Stable Manager. Certainly wasn't a little back street place! Richard Mead kept his horses there. I then went on to work for Jenny Lorriston-Clarke.

I'm not at all bothered you've reported me, I have pointed out to admin that you have been attacking me in every post.

Regarding the BHS instructor - yes, we would be shot down in flames for that. However I'm very aware that I don't do things the 'BHS Way', and so that bothers me absolutely milch. If you have done your BHS exams you know yourself that that's the case, and you have consciously decided to do differently - so why let it get to you?

No I said we would have been shot down in flames for making a skimpy bed, WE being the students.

Yes your right I know that but in the practical life some situations call for a different practice to what your taught.

but when you write something in answer to OP about how you do the beds you expect to hear

'Oh I would not do that I would always do this and that'. Or 'does your horse not get cold' We all have different practice and views on things.

But to come out with....
I am neglecting my pony and don't care about my horses. Was totally uncalled for IMO.

I not once criticized the fact they do big beds or do it this way or that.

Funny that the post where I was accused of not caring as mysteriously vanished. Wonder if it was H&H?

Anyway its over now I have moved on and they wont rile me again lol

My horse is naked year round And I always wash my feed buckets out! :D

Oh no, here we go!! Mine not only has no banks, but is rugged year round (fly sheet all summer) and I only wash my buckets out every few days or so :S

Funny how everyone does things so differently, and yet the horses are still fine :)
