i have good stable mats, field guard but want good horse bedding, what do you guy's use and any good, i like big banks and a good base for the horse to lay in....
I did like the megazorb but it just seemed to compress together and dissapear, but it was so easy to muck out.
I like the medium sized shavings, you get big banks and they look nice and bouncy to lie on!
Shavings - if I use straw the greedy chap eats it ,here in Spain they feed straw and so when I first got here and made up the bed beautifully banked the locals thought I was barmy !!
Ecobed cardboard, i really rate it, lovely and warm, clean, doesn't break down to dust at all, very easy to muck out, mulches down brilliantly (or great for worm farmers!)
I usually use shavings but atm, due to being skint and a shavings shortage round here, I am using sawdust, which is free from the local wood yard. It comes in really big bags and I use 1 bag per week per horse, I have quite wet horses and the sawdust keeps the beds that bit drier.
I have mats in 2 stables and the other one is deep litter.
Aubiose is brilliant but a bit pricey!!!! Presently using a 50/50 mix of shavings and chopped straw which our local tack shop stocks - cheaper and still quite good. Both of these go well on mats.
