harmonys still in as theres no grass so she would just drop weight otherwise! she is on straw as its free with livery but can afford shavings.

haynets get dampened, was on cough medicene but didnt seem to be helping much!
any you can recommend? any tips etc?

Get onto quality dust extracted shavings or better still paper.

Is it a deep littered bed?

If so, unless gutted every couple of weeks, the ammonia builds up and this can affect your horses respitatory system.

My pony had a terrible cough last year had vet out and tried different medicines nothing seem to work. I went to my feed merchant and was advised to put him on Hilton Herbs Freeway. I have had him on it ever since now only on a maitanance dose and have not had any probs since.
Also try feeding him wet hay on the floor and try and change your bedding.
