What does everyone use for cleaning out their stable?

Now my horse is in more his stable is very smelly and I like to once a week give it a bit of a wash and try to dry the floor out? I have used jeyes fluid and virkon in the past but just wondered if anyone knew of any good alternatives?
Cheers

I give mine a daily spray with diluted Detol, they do a yummy lavender and orange one!! And I use that and jeys fluid when I pull up the mats. Makes it smell much nicer!!

Maybe it's just me but ...... I hate the smell of jeyes fluid, and actually anything that smells fake. I think that's why I now favour virkon as it seems to take the smell away without leaving a fragrance, but at £2 a time its quite expensive.

Jeyes also make a powder, which (according to the instructions on the pack) is suitable for stables. The advantage is that it is dry, so no need for drying time - sprinkle on, leave for a few minutes, then sweep up. The disadvantage is that it is black and needs very careful sweeping.

I love the smell of Jeyes.

i like the smell of jeys but since being told that it can kill cats i dont use it anymore - they can asorb it through their paws if they walk on it
i use stuff called biosuper not sure if it is just up this way you can get it, the global herb one is good too but its expensive, also like for a wash (the other 2 are powders) the gloop from fieldguard, it lasts for ages

Virkon - great stuff (they use it in microbiology labs to kill off the nasties so must be good!) - plus the fact you can also make it into a solution to use to spray on ringworm too, for which it is very effective!
