hi, we are getting a stable base built soon, and so drainage is coming up

is it a good or bad idea for each stable to have a drainage point or better to have a gully for it to flow into

also good or bad to have a slight gradient to enable flow of wee towards the drain point/gully, and if so, back to front or front to back?

any other things to look into please say

We built ours just over 10 years ago, thought very hard about drainage, eventually went with a slight gradient then a gully at the back, they are raised off the ground with a slight slope to the walkway, however the ground was uneven so had to raise higher at the back.

they have done fine, no issues and still going strong and have been used by several horses over the years
