Hi
I have the opportunity to play ponies with a young 4 year old pony. My confidence is improving when entering the stable and grooming. However she has a tendency to move around and l find l am backed against the stable door by her bum and l am too nervous to push her bum as uncertain if she will kick out at me. She also tries to lean her bum side on me when l brush her tail. Any advice/tips on moving around in the stable both myself and horse. Thank you

As above, tie her up and learn to preempt, if you are one step ahead you don’t end up between her bum and the door.

She probably wants her bum scratching, I have one the same, which I’ll happily do but on my terms. She is not allowed to back up into or lean on me. A gentle shove and reminder about my personal space keeps her in check.

If you’re still getting to know her, pop your riding hat on to be safe.
