If you lease it could the owner provide details of who it’s been insured with previously? Otherwise ring a few insurance companies and ask.

its owned by mod and they wont tell me it's really hard to find I'm not sure if liability insurance covers stable building all I want is an online quote but you have to wait for days to wait for an email to come back to find out how much it is or they get you to fill a form out it's not like going on confused.com where you see the prices etc its driving me mad

If it is owned by the MOD it wont have been insured, all Government departments self-insure.
I recently tried to insure house, stable block and barn with NFU, they quoted me £1400 premium. Several people I know have also had NFU come back with ridiculously high quotes. Eventually got cover for £300 from a company called Home Protect.
