Stable Mats - Dilema

i have the green squishy equimats, they are brilliant! did have heavy black ones but joey managed to kick them about an get bedding underneath them. i have a small bed at the back an it is so much easier to much out and saves on bedding.

I would suggest you try Equimat instead of field guard. They are interlocking, majorly lighter than any other make, AND if you need to you can always get individual mats if you move. I have moved yards 5 times in the a last 5 years (not all through choice), and eveyone has admired my set, even if I do have 2 in the back garden at the moment.

Those are the ones in the rest of the stables (double checked them at the weekend) - and yes, the ones I will be going for if I go ahead.

I love ours. Dread to think what we'd be paying for shavings without them. Don't know about Field guard ones but we bought Mayo mats that can be lifted by one person, so easily moved.

I'm on livery and I wouldn't dream of being without rubber mats. I have the Quattro Supermat and they're very heavy but excellent quality (to my eyes) and lovely and thick. A fellow livery has the Equimats but because they interlock like a jigsaw they're more difficult to adapt to different stables if you move yards.

Mucking out on shavings is much quicker with the rubber mats. Though I don't think I use any less shavings...

I've got Mayomats - very light so easy to move and also very easy to cut to size (like slicing cheese!).

I used to have the heavy hard rubber mats but hated them. Stables still got smelly, impossible to move on your own, hard to cut and soon started to rot.

I'd go for the lighter EVA mats every time and because they're a lot cheaper far easier to replace if necessary.

I still use lots of bedding (Neds Bedz) though but that's because I'm far too soft.
