Where is a good place to get mats from? I'm in Stirling but would order from anywhere in the UK if the courier charge was reasonable.

I've never bought mats before so are there any specific brands or types you would recommend?

I'm on a kind of budget as my stables are HUGE and I have 3 to fit.

Thanks for your help

oo Im in Scotland too (Aberdeenshire) and mine arrived yesterday less than 48 hours after I ordered them and the lovely man got them up onto our yard (we are on a hill so front is up in the air) and into the horses stable barn. Bless him!

The company is Coba matting and the 17mm ones were £29.99each. Delivery was about £60-70 but we are wild and remote so it might be a lot less for you - that was cheaper for me that the other companies!.

hope this helps - worth considering anyway

their website is
http://www.cobaeurope.com/equestrian.asp

The mats are the classic bubble on the top, grooved on the bottom type.

I got some last year from a company I'd seen advertising on ebay. I think they're 18mm and it came to £220 ish for 6 mats (6'x4' each) inc the pallet delivery which was a flat fee and can deliver a whole bundle at a time for the same delivery cost.

The company was Carpetpac and they were very helpful over the phone. Delivery really quick and that was on the 22nd Dec!

People on our yard have bought their mats from Russells in Larbert. I think they are about £40 each and they have collected them. Does seem to work out in the long run.

Got mine from horsemat.co.uk a couple of years ago delivered to yard in Central Scotland. At the time they were the cheapest. A few of use wanted them so think we ordered 20 at once.

I got mine from Davidsons in Blairgowrie.

I got the really thick ones which were £50 each but they did have a cheaper alternative that weren't so thick.

I think delivery was pretty reasonable considering they came in a big lorry. Delivery man was really nice and friendly too!!

Central horse supplies in Avonbridge have them, they do two different types, the ones with 'studs' underneath and the ribbed underneath ones. I have them in my mare's stable and am very happy with them. I collected them in my car the guy there was very helpful rolling them up for me.
