stable matting

I thought that I would treat my boy to some matting he is going to be on box rest for a while having slipped in the mud and lamed himself. I have my daughters pony on cheap matting which works for him but wouldn't work for a larger horse. Does anyone have any advice/suggestions about a good make to go for or what to avoid. Non slip essential. Thanks for your time.

We have used Tylene for 3 stables now - fantastic service and mats. Very pleased.

I have some of these mats and they are brilliant, easy to move, lay etc. In fact so light you can pick them up with one hand and carry them. Totally love these mats:

Our Tylene mats are so heavy - I can not lift them or barely drag them.... my husband pulls them about when we have needed to!

I have had Equimats for my 2 for 18 months - they are very light to lift and are thick and well cushioned - very pleased with them.

Which ever make you decide on, & some unbranded mats are just as good as known makes, ensure that you have at least 17mm-18mm thick. If you go much thinner than that then there is a possibility of it ripping under the weight of a horse twisting & turning on it in a stable.
