does anyone have one in their horses stables?

i bought one for Rio today and hes completely obsessed with it! hes spent about 20mins whickering and biting at the mirror, sizing his reflection up and showing off how much of a stallion he is :o

hes chilled out now comfortable in his own company :) but i was wondering what other peoples horses reactions were and whether people generally think that stable mirrors are good :)

for anyone interested.. Rio is settling in nicely got a bit excited this morning when Taz neighed to him so was showing off his "stallion moves" and was getting in my space a bit so i did what i usually do when a horse starts to invade my space and put my elbow in to his shoulder... little did i know that that is one of the spots that asks for piaffe :o so then i had an over excited stallion doing piaffe :o after a moment he seemed to recover his manners and then walked in normally but i was a bit confused when that happened :o

this evening he was as quiet as a mouse had a full groom and i used a spray on him for the first time which he was a bit confused about bless him but hes generally being a total sweety! hes a total baby though and very cheeky! he turned the tap off on me while i was cleaning his water buckets out and spends most of his life fiddling with the zips on my jacket :o

I had a mare who loved her mirror. She would whicker to it and look at herself in it for hours.

My current two couldn't be less interested. Weird huh?

May i ask what Rio's history is, I used to ride a horse just like him who was sold on?

sorry, just read your post fully, so rio isn't the horse in your sig?

Don't need mirrors we have bars into each next door stable so they stand nose to nose. I know the chap that invented them though and think they are a good idea where needed.

Glad he is still a chilled out dude.
