Stable Mirrors?

I'm thinking of getting a stable mirror for my boy. Any recommendations/hints/tips.

He gets very stressed when his friend is taken out for a ride. I was watching him the other day, as I happened to witness it (usually out on said horse) and decided that he needed some help to cope.
 
As i remember someone pointing out on here before ....be careful where you position it,putting one beside where he eats might just cause an argument between himself and his reflection.Not good.
Apart from that i dont have any really hints im afraid.
ive heard they can be very good for stressy horses who dont like being alone and to help stop some vices but i've never seen one in action.
 
I can understand the point about not being near the feed manager.

I was wondering about the best size, for instance. Also good suppliers.
 
My stable mirror is a large piece of polished steel (offcut from a local cpy that fits out commercial kitchens and I think it cost me £10). My stressy TB loves hers and as she has just moved stable I am def going to get her another one.

Warning - very dominant horses DO NOT like them. I have a friend whose mare (in foal at the time) double barrelled hers. As you can imagine it was quickly removed.

I had one made for a stressy tb a few years back at the time we used a roll of sticky mirror from the Kleeneze catalogue onto a piece of hardboard. My tb loved himself so much he tried to groom his handsome new stable mate

it really helped him and when we sold him his new owners put it up for him and he still adores his own reflection! aahhh bless x
 
I found an old bathroom mirror which I have been able to fit in the feed room, which has a half door and is adjacent to his stable (I have to go into his stable to get to the feed room. So although it is glass, he can see himself but not reach it and it is securly fixed. If it fell it wouldn't get into his stalble.

Doesn't seem in the slightest bit interested in the new horse next door!
Is this because it isn't on his wall, or are some horses not bothered either way?
