My companion is going next week and I really don't want to replace him. I do have two horses but when I hack one out the other one gets emotional. I thought of getting decent anti weave grills and stable mirrors, what do you think?
Also, can someone recommend a good stable mirror, most of them look like silver foil...is that right?
 
I am really interested to see some replies to this post and whether people have found stable mirrors effective with a horse thats anxious on its own in the stable. I point blank can't leave my horse in on his own or have other horses taken away from him so he is left in the stable. He runs to the back and throws himself at the door screaming and whinnying and kicks the hell out of the walls, i actually think he'd have the stable off of the wall as he's a big boy! hE WILL RUN AROUND AND SHOUT IN THE FIELD IF HES LEFT ON HIS OWN but trailers fine on his own etc. I've always wondered if the mirrors worked? My horse is very attached to my mums so part of it is separation anxiety...
 
Mine worked. I bought a stressy weaver who now hasn't weaved for over 5 years. She is quite calm in her stable and is often found staring at her reflection in the mirror.
 
I can't praise them enough. When my boy was on 6 months + box rest with a fractured pedal bone, the first few days and nights were absolute hell. I ordered a stable mirror and the transformation was amazing.
 
Fantastic, thank you all. It has to be cheaper than another horse!

Just looked at site, Daffodil what size did you go for, and for how big a horse? I will need two, one for each stable, and both are 17hh +, what would you recommend?
