My friend stuck a stable mirror in her horses box this morning - he was hilarious!

Danny steamed it up by snorting at it, then proceeded to admire this "other" horse for ages. He then tried to find the other horse by looking over the wall between his stable and next door. He had me and his owner in stitches! He's a terrible box walker and she's hoping this will help him - thoughts?

I'd quite like to get one for Henry now, think he'd love to stand admiring himself for hours - anyone got one? What do your horses think of them?

My mare loves hers, and box walks far less.
Her box is a bit seperate from the other two horses, so had thought it was worth a try, definitely a good buy.
She really loves her "friend".

Archie has one and its helped him no end. Before if another horse walked past he'd through himself at the stable door and buck in the stable

Now hes as quiet as anything and stands sleeping in front of his 'friend'

Very dominant horses don't seem to like them (I Imagine they see them as a threat, not as a friend).
Otherwise they seem to be worth a try.

We put one in our lorry as we travel Ella on her own. She does seem to admire herself and every now and then she calls to her self in the mirror. I am sure it helps.

you can get them on ebay, or google 'stable mirrors' - make sure you buy one with pre-drilled holes and follow the instructions on how and where they need to be put in the stable.

Mine was £50 and its 4ft x 4ft as Archie is 17'3 so he needed the biggest one.

Has anyone tried one in their trailer? I was thinking about it but am not sure where to put it in a trailer. Would it go infront of him or on the opposite side of the trailer. I can't explain very well
