depends where you are! Planning for stabling where there has been some previously or in an agri area where there have been many buildings/barns should be straight forward but in residential areas or AONB SSI very very difficult (I used to live in an AONB in shrops- we applied for 3 stables feed room and tack room and were declined permanent wooden or breeze block style stables- they said the stables had to be in keeping with the area- i.e. stunning local stone with traditional wooden framing etc- this we couldn't afford so just put up a temp shelter on skids)
agree with last post... we dont have any planning permish... we have 1 neighbour and then fields on either side... tho our stables are the wooden type you can put up in 5 hours
Like the previous post it depends where it is, what land it would be on and the types of stables that you want to erect. I'm an engineer and work mainly on great big developments but have helped a few friends get permission for their stables.
I'd strongly advise speaking to the planning officer and scoping out what you need to do and how likely it will be to get permission. See if you can think of any similar sites near you which have recently gained permission. You can search on the online planning portal and find their planning application documents. you will then get to grips with whats required/processes etc.
