Need a MW and HW and possibly an under rug for winter. Anyone got any recommendations? I dont have a big budget so as much as i'd like all the new expensive ones. But at the same time I know cheap makes are not so good quality.

When I was showing I used a duvet as an under rug - got a king sized one for £5 from the market - seconds. The X surcingles on the stable rug and an elastic surcingle kept it in place - did the old up the neck - fold flaps up to the withers, rug over top and pull part up the neck down under elastic surcingle. If really cold just wrapped it around her chest and did up chest straps - didn't move much. The only thing is they really show the dirt as white ! poo mainly, not easy to wash either ! I always use a cotton summer sheet or a nylon body under all rugs as they're easy to wash !
If you're doing this the softer outer rugs work best -have a v stiff rambo stable rug and this doesn't work with duvet - in actual fact the cheaper rugs seem to be the best - £25 from derby market was my best buy ever - had it 15 years and used it on 2 difft horses now !

I won't use anything other than Weatherbeeta, Fal or Horseware. My horse has a "wardrobe" of Weatherbeetas, they are brilliant! It's almost a shame she's out 24/7 now!

I have just got a MW stable rug from premier equine. It is less than £30 now in the sale almost half price. Fits lovely and seems to be really good quality. haven't used it yet, just tried it on, but I would reccomend.

Thanks for the help. I looked at premier equine as I have their fly rug but the MW stable rug isnt available in 6'6! I think equestrian clearance is the way to go.

We bought Murph a MW stable rug from Tesco last year. It was in the sale and was ridiculously cheap so I thought I would give it a go. Have been very pleased, it fits him really well (he is quite chunky and some rugs can be tight across the chest, and he seemed very content in it. Not sure if they are doing them this year but have a look on the Tesco direct web site.
