Does anyone know what the minimum stable size is for a horse?
i have viewed a 17 x 9.5 ft stable on the most gorgeous yard but i'm unsure whether it is too narrow for a 15.2 chunky cob.

Any thoughts appreciated

12x12 for a horse, 10x10 for a pony and I think 15x15 for a foaling box. But I have had a 17.3 in a 10x11 box with no problems and huge (7' rug) 17 hand carthorse type in a 10x10 with a very open construction and a bed to the door. He wasn't worried in the slightest.

Do they turn ok?

I'm guessing as a cob (and remembering what I've seen in photos) he's not going to be a particularly long horse and he'd be fine in a stable that size.

One of mine is 17hh and long with it and he's in a 12x12 stable. The slightly smaller (but a fair bit shorter) 16.3hh is in a 18 x 12. It was supposed to be the other way round but M hated being in the corner so swapped him to an end stable and put A in his big stable.

He will be fine in that size OP I had a fourteen feet by eight and half stable for years it worked fine although it was our most infrequently used stable .
I prefer retanglar boxes to square ones

I've got a 16ft by 11ft stable now with a 15 hand cob whereas my friend has her 15.3 cob in a 10x11ft and he manages fine despite being a very long horse. I'm sure your horse will be fine OP :)

Mine are in 9.5 x 13.5 with the door on the short side, so they are straight when looking out on to the yard. There is enough room for them to lie down flat.
