I have a dark palomino yearling with a white mane and tail with black streaks. Or that’s how he should look! His mane and tail are currently yellow and the end of his tail is brown. No matter how much I wash it, it’s still not clean. Any tips? I heard ketchup takes stains out? Or is that a load of rubbish?

Does it really need to be clean at this time of year? Blue Fairy Liquid works well at removing grease and dirt but in winter he'll need to keep warm!

tail bag left on all the time my horses only have them taken off for a show, the purple shampoo is good for taking the yellow tinge from light hair you just leave it on for ten minutes then rinse.

I use https://www.sstack.com/product/absorbine-show-clean-mane-tail-whitener/ along with http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Reckitts-...954412&hash=item25de599bbd:g:ppIAAOSwsIZZnreU on socks and mane/tail they come up much better . One of mine is Palo but had palo hairs in tail and mane so never pure white, mare has white tail but it is black hairs along with grime but unless I am showing which I have not yet i don't worry to much if dirty.

once you have got them clean. put talc on. I wash, talc and then put to bed and my boy gets really white socks

Same here. Talc on to wet legs then when you arrive brush it out. If theres any stains make a paste of talc and water and cover it with that :)

Instead of wasting money on blue tablets you can just add some blue food colouring to whatever shampoo you want to use. I prefer the cowboy magic stuff though as I'm a coward and even though I know its no different the thought of food colouring terrifies me

Just so you don't feel as bad... my vet came the other day and asked if my grey was dun... DUN?! hahahahaha.

He's groomed everyday and I have all sorts of gadgets, but he refuses to stay grey :( haha
