My horse is on shavings and (of course) lies on to pof his mess. His cotton rugs are all stained and just don't look nice

Is there anyway to get them out? He's just staying in a turnout now, as his lovely purple rug is all yellow/brown

Without sounding obvious have you put them in the washing machine? I take mine to the local launderette, four pounds for a huge load and they come up good as new.

I sent the cotton cooler to the cleaner (along with all the turnouts etc) but it came back still with stains

Maybe vanish would do the trick...

If one of mine has a really crusty patch I give it a bit of a scrub first with some soap and a nail brush to really work it in.

Would certainly try vanish if I needed to, works very well when I put a scoop in the wash at home.

Stains dont come out of cotton without putting on a fairly hot wash, which cant be done without the risk of shrinkage. You could try Vanish but be sure to rinse thoroughly as it may irriate your horses skin.

Easiest way to avoid stains is to put a deep bed of shavings down, works for my horse. (cotton is a nightmare to get rid of stains by the way)
