Friend is moving from Newmarket to Colchester and has been searching for livery yards within a 15 mile radius of where she is moving to. She has managed to get a number of names of yards and sussed them out but has been told of one called Maltings Farm in or near Little Hawkesley (sp?). Does anyone know anything about them? What it's like - what facilities they have, who does she contact etc. Please PM me with any details and I'll happily pass it over to her. Thanks.

What is your friend looking for ? DIY or part/full ? What facilities ? I'm not far away from Colchester and know it well .....if you'd like to pm me details of what your pal needs I'll get back to you with a few yards to look at,
Annie x

A quiet yard - safe hacking. Part livery - she works shifts so would need one week someone to do breakfast and turn out - next week - bring in and feed. She can do everything at the weekend. He's her competition horse so doesn't want him being handled by loads of kids basically. She's moving around the CO6 area if that's any help. She's been driving around looking at yards for the past couple of weeks but there are a few she has been told about but hasn't found anything about them yet. Good or bad - do let us know.

Claypits farm in Earls Colne is nice and they have good hacking and an indoor school. Its on the Earls colne to Coggeshall road, or look at Crepping hall - they have a website too. Thats CO6 way.

The Garrison Saddle Club is pretty good and have outdoor & indoor school, a couple of friends have been there, also think the off road hacking is fairly good !

Thanks everyone. All information has been passed on to my friend who is out looking around the area. The last I heard (a few days ago) the move had broken down, but she still seems sure that the move will happen this year so is continuing to look. She now has I'm sure enough information (thanks to you all) to get something sorted. Cheers for that.
