Needing to get more practise at jumping, our Yo organised an hours hire of the "Erewash Jumping indoor place" today, so 6 of us tacked up and went... It was a brill idea just to go somewhere different - some young horse 4+ yrs went and first exp of indoor arena. Brill location as jumps set out already (admitedly a tad too high!) but al horses settled and we went clear over 15 fences. My prob is the approach (flat out) and the get away (mega flat out) any tips from you jumping peeps out there? (got my stage II riding in two months time and Im not nealy ready yet!! eeekk..

try jumping a small single fence and stopping a few strides after the jump. Taught my mare not to rush because it removes the excitement of the whole thing and then you can gradually reintroduce the course

what bit do you use? I have a hanging cheek smaffle and people say not enuf for him but scared to change as very small mouth and large tongue. But will try this ideas - thanks for replying dwi. ,x
