hey,
I'm looking for a yard for my boy and soon to be mine little filly. I live in rochdale and don't mind travelling by train/bus/walking (don't have car yet.) would need good sized stables and all year turnout. Would prefer an arena as my boys still a bugger and the filly will need to start training, but could deal without as long as fantastic hacking off roads and not too many farms about (nero even smells a cow/sheep/miniture pony and freaks out.) and a field to work in. Not to bothered by price. oh, can only do DIY if not to far away.

Thanks a lot. xxx

under Riding Schools, Livery Stables & Equestrian Centres, but I dont know if the livery is full/part/DIY, any details etc. Its a long while since I was in the area.

Fenns Equestrian Centre

Rochdale Online has a forum which you might get some better answers on, sorry :)

I think you'll be struggling with off road hacking/year round turn out/not on or near a farm in this area.

You could try Swallows on Norden Road in Bamford but I think they have cows. There are also a couple of other livery yards along Jowkin Lane in the same area.

Hi - I live up here - Fenns shut down years ago and dicky is next door to my farm its just a riding school. A friend of mine has her horses up in milnrow - I will pm you when find out where (i know there was no spaces before Dec but might have now).

Waterloo Farm on School Lane in Norden, has a big arena, nice stables and all year turnout although its a bit of a walk down a lane to get to the field.

Birchenley Farm, Wildhouse Lane, Milnrow, Rochdale. Tel: 01706-644484
They have spaces - nice rides around - Hollingworth Lake. Hope this helps x

I used to be at Birchinley Manor, awful place ;) Is Birchinley Farm next door?

Fenns has shut now has it? You think theyd take the details down wouldnt you?! :)

Fenns has been knocked down and now has the motorway running through its fields :( use to love it there - did my road and ride saftey there etc. . many years ago lol. Birchenly Equestrian Center - I use to compete at - but now is a football ground haha - should bring it back. The farm is up the lane - only one there?? so not sure if it is the one you mean?? Sorry about my spelling tonight,, brain not working lol:)

Shame your getting a filly I have two spare stables and am just on rochdale /oldham border, but only have geldings on. Suppose it depends where in Rochdale you live if your planning on public transport to get you to and from. There are quite a few livery yards near me that have mares tho try fentons farm or hopwood farm they are either side of me(Broad Lane) and have decent hacking only a bit of roadwork to get to some decent rides. Both have arenas and mostly year round turnout I think. There are quite a few more if your close ish to where I am PM me x

Thanks so much for all your replies, seems to be a difficult area to find stables. :D x
will look in to the one's you have suggested. :p
