Is it normal for overnight stabling to be £80.00 per night? I nearly fell off of my chair

Am I just way out of touch? We only paid £20.00 when we stayed at the Maitlands last October.

How Much!!!!! ouch that is alot! Hickstead only charge 40 per night for RIHS, 125 for the duration, arena uk charging 55 for a sj show for duration. Hope its worth it?

most places we go are between £60-75 for the weekend - (3 nights) - but not many places do one night only. i wouldnt be paying £80 just for one night!

I would not pay £80 for one night either a weekend yes I have

Well you can have it for Fri and Sat night but we'd only need it for night and they don't do a discount if you only want it for one night

Also only supply 1 bale of shavings

What Show is it? Is there extra security I know showing shows often have too.

No, you have to add £5.00 to the stable application for security! They patrol from 10pm onwards...

It is quite common for shows to charge for the duration of the show. Our area show is #60 for 2 nights and I think Hickstead Derby meeting is over #100.

Could you not find a yard nearby if you just want it for the night ?

That is a rip off! Max Ive ever paid for one night is £25 (but like you it was for 2 nights, but I only wanted 1) with as much straw as required.

Id refuse to pay £80 for one night definately. I wouldnt pay more than £30 ever TBH! If I were you Id look locally to see if there's a yard which would take you for cheaper.

Is this for trailblazers, because my friend was on about this, she only lives down the road but you still have to pay a fortune in entry fees and if you are not stabling you have to pay a clean up charge. It is going to cost a fortune

What! Thats mad. We had Longleat lot staying with us, £20 a night, with full beds, water, use of school etc.

Question: Do you guys muck out your own beds when staying somewhere? We had 5 that did, and 3 that didn't, they had the messied horses too.

Bloody hell that's extorinate we pay €75 for 3 nights!!!!

IC - I don't unless it's in the schedule that they must be mucked out.

That's pure profiteering & disgraceful!

At our local BSJA establishment you pay £20 + vat per night for an event stable & £44 + vat if you want it for 3 nights. This includes free straw. You leave a deposit with them on arrival & get it returned when you've mucked the stable out & left it clean on leaving.....now this is far more reasonable?

This is all very interesting to read, as I paid £50 for one nice for Archie to stay at Somerford Park Farm and that included two bales of shavings, which wasnt enough so I bought two more at a tenner each, so in total I paid £70 for one night and I had to take all my muking out equipement (made my car stink!)

Ha ha, if this is for Trailblazers then Im certainly not surprised. They're a rip-off! The fact you have to pay each time to qualify (ie. for the 2nd rounds etc.) as well as the entry fees is terrible and I remember seeing the cost for doing the champs and it was a joke! Cost me way less to do an entire 3 day event at the nearby RC National Horse trial champs!!

That is a rip off we normaly pay £15 per horse ( but most people take many). We have stables on our lorry now, so we dont need them!
