After Busters 1st ODE last week (80cm at sapey) we took him back to sapey yeasterday to have a jump round the intro course as it was all still flagged. He was very good with the only stop being at the step down at the quarry - but he did it well enough in the end. And after his blip at the water last week he went straight in with no hesitation and ended doing the novice steps in and out!

Question is - what is Stafford like in comparison to Sapey and would it be a nice 1st event??

Thanks

Beth

It is fine, on a par with Sapey. We took a horse for first pre novice and he was fine. Go on their web site lots of pictures.

I'm not sure-but can I just hijack please? Can a 4yr old do a BE80?

I think the 80cm was unaffiliated and they can do the BE90 if it's in a 4yo section (the old PAVO qualifiers).

Stafford is lovely. Dont know the Sapey course, but stafford has a bit of everything in it, so a sunken road, a double of skinnyish logs, a little open ditch, and other than that lots of galloping

It is beautifully built and well dressed, so is an eyeful, but easy to ride forward round

A 4yo can doe a be90 class only if the same year it will reach its 5th birthday.

The exception being the 4yo classes.

Glads to hear stafford is lovely as have just entered myself horse is nearly ready to upgrade so a bit of everything will just suite me fine
