hi, Finally bought myself a schoolmaster towards end of last summer and feel ready (I think) to give BE a go. Is Stafford a good run for a first timer - talking BE80 here? Horse could do it with eyes closed, jockey probably will do it with eyes closed but just hoping I wont be scaring myself before the season even begins. I need to break the ice so to speak :)

I asked the same question of a couple of friends who event (at a higher level) and was told Stafford is inviting and "easy", so ideal for a first time. I am hoping to do it, though the rate i'm going it might be the summer one not the spring one.

Stafford is perfect for a 1st time run. It is an inviting XC course, well built & presented but there is nothing nasty, unfair or trappy about it.
The showjumping is usually colourful & again presented well.
Go for it!

Thanks everyone. I realised after I had said first timer - I feel like a first timer - I last evented 20 years ago lol. Really looking forward to getting back into it. )
